Tools
There are all kinds of musical tools that make my life easier. Here's a few of the ones that I use most.
- Metronome
This on-line metronome is easy to use and looks cool too! Never underestimate the value of a metronome. - Guitar Tuner
Here's a handy tuner to keep you in perfect pitch. - Chord Decoder
The Chord Decoder derives chord names from individual notes. You can also choose a specific chord. The Chord Decoder tells you the chord, type, intervals, and notes. - Guitar Codex
The Guitar Codex is a slightly more advanced tool that derives chord names for a given fingering and vice versa. It includes a graphical fingerboard (neck) which is great for visualizing the notes. You can also choose a specific chord or scale. The Guitar Codex tells you the chord, type, intervals, and notes and give you a graphical representation of the results on the fingerboard. Plus you actually can hear the notes! - Blanks Sheets
These are PDF files of blank staff paper and chord sheets that you can use to document what you are writing or learning. - Harmonica Key Change Chart
This chart takes the mystery out of finding the right key for harmonica. - Players & Converters
Here I list a few of my favorite players & converters (which I use to convert music files from one format to another) and provide links for program downloads. - Links
