Guitar Codex
Guitar Codex is an advanced tool that derives chord names for a given fingering and vice versa. It includes a graphical fingerboard (neck) where you can choose specific notes with the click of a mouse. You can also simply choose a chord or scale. The Guitar Codex gives you all the details and a graphical representation of the results on the fingerboard.
You can even choose your tuning and your display (notes or intervals and right-handed or left-handed). But wait! There's more!
Not only can you see the notes, chords, and scales that you choose, you can actually hear them! The Guitar Codex uses MIDI to give you 127 instrument options. If you want to hear a chord or scale as individual notes, adjust the Arpeggio milliseconds (try a value of around 500 ms) using the scroll bar at the bottom of the display.
There are no special system requirements. You just need a java-enabled browser.
